Thoughts and ramblings during the Rally.

Most of our readers, and many folks in Florida, consider Biketo-berfest to be a ten day event. But that's definitely not what the city thinks nor, apparently, the Volusia County Council and those folks that've deserted Daytona Beach for the environs of northern Ormond Beach - Destination Daytona. That's cool, though, cuz we git our butts in gear, saddle up and ride a little southwest to Seminole County. Just over the Volusia-Seminole County line lies the previously sleepy little town of Sanford on the southern shores of 10,000 acre Lake Monroe. An' ya know what? They've got an awesome Bike Fest happenin' to git us started right for Biketoberfest. Dixie Biker helped 'em out this year - well at least Carolina Dave busted his butt and made good things happen - and we were there hangin' with about fifty or sixty thousand of y'all. We've got coverage of Friday and Saturday along the lake and we'll start our Biketoberfest coverage with that awesome event.
Friday was the kickoff day for the Sanford Bike Fest. It featured the bikini contest, live music, and lots more. Click the picture on the left for lots more pictures and Monk's commentary.
Saturday was day 2 of the Sanford Bike Fest. It featured picture perfect "Chamber of Commerce" weather, thousands of bikers and lotsa memories. Click the picture on the right for lots more pictures and Monk's commentary.

It was pretty laid back and not crowded around Datyona. And then Big Engine kicked it up and got us in the mood for Biketoberfest. These guys rock! Click the picture on the rleft for lots more pictures and commentary.
